We don’t need to say more about the harm of staying up late to sleep, and we won’t repeat them here. However, we cannot deny that many people do not stay up late intentionally, and even lie in bed very early, but due to various reasons, they still fail to fall asleep quickly.
Therefore, on the premise of setting aside some personal habits, let’s talk about some correct practices and suggestions for bedroom lighting design.
First of all, the intensity of bedroom wall lighting
Let’s talk about the intensity of the bedroom light first, that is, the illuminance. Generally speaking, we think that the bedroom is not suitable for arranging too strong light sources. It is enough to choose a simple chandelier as the main lighting, plus an appropriate number and position of auxiliary lights (mentioned later). In addition, we do not recommend using bare light sources (directly using light bulbs) as bedroom lighting. Flower lamps such as chandeliers and wall lamps should also choose styles with hoods. The lampshades have openings, so the direction of the openings should not face the bed or people.
One thing to note is that whether it is the main light or the auxiliary light, the direction of the light should not face the bed as much as possible, especially where the human eyes are. Otherwise, it will affect the health of eyesight, and it will also affect the psychological and emotional, which will have a more far-reaching impact.
Second, the color of bedroom lighting
The color of bedroom lighting, which is what we often call color temperature, is also a problem that we need to consider when arranging bedroom lighting. Usually, we think that it is appropriate to choose elegant warm colors for the lighting color system of the bedroom, and we think that cool white light is inappropriate. In terms of color temperature, we recommend around 2700K.
On the other hand, there is a big taboo in the choice of bedroom lamps, that is, exaggerated shapes and rich colors. Bedside lighting makes it easier to get up at night in addition to passing the time before bed. When people wake up in the middle of the night, they are often very sensitive to light. The light that looks very dark during the day will make people feel that the light is sufficient at night. Therefore, the shape of the bedside lamp should be comfortable, smooth, and simple, and the color should be elegant. ,mild. Do not choose lamps with exaggerated or peculiar shapes, and the color tone should not be too strong and bright.
Third, the type of bedroom lighting
As mentioned earlier, in the lighting arrangement of the bedroom, in addition to choosing a main light (a lighting design without a main light is also popular nowadays, click to learn), we will also add some auxiliary light sources in an appropriate amount. The first choice for this auxiliary light source is the desk lamp. The desk lamps placed on both sides of the bedside table can play a very important decorative role.
