If you want to create a warm nest, please don’t miss the light strip. Whether it is commercial lighting or engineering lighting, the light strip is one of the most commonly used lamps. The main function is ambient lighting, and the light strip can also be used for basic lighting. Since the light strip is a linear light source, it is mainly used for hidden installation. Conventionally, light strips are divided into high-voltage light strips, low-voltage light strips, linear lights and T5 brackets.
High-voltage light strips are our most common light strips, and are basically used in home environments.
advantage:
There are many specifications and models, and the brightness and functions are freely selected; the price is cheap.
shortcoming:
Strobe is a common problem, but it can be adapted to constant current drive to achieve the effect of no video flicker. The installation of the reflector is not easy to standardize, resulting in uneven light output. High-voltage light strips are usually measured in meters. If there is a dead light in the middle, it will be more troublesome. If all of them are replaced, it will not only take time but also cost money.
Practical application: High-pressure light strips are suitable for ambient light sources or auxiliary basic lighting for gypsum board modeling. Because the light blocking rate of the light trough is relatively large, the light utilization rate is low. The bright light can be used as basic lighting, the marked light is recommended for ambient lighting, and the color temperature of the ambient lighting is recommended to be warm yellow light. If there are other lamps for basic lighting, it is also recommended to choose a light strip with a large luminous flux.
Low-voltage light strips are commonly found in 12V/24V light strips and need to be equipped with a constant voltage power adapter. The power selection of switching power supply, total power = rated voltage * rated current * 0.8, try not to let the drive operate at full load, and the actual power of the drive power supply will be slightly smaller than the rated power.
The advantages of low voltage light strips:
Safe Voltage – Can be used in accessible places to avoid the risk of electric shock.
Self-contained self-adhesive – it can perfectly fit many scenes of glass, sheet, and linear light profiles.
Durable – low-voltage light strips have a longer lifespan than high-pressure light strips.
High flexibility – each parallel segment can be cut at will. (usually about 4cm)
Disadvantages: The price is high, and a single light strip is too long to cause a voltage drop, that is, the farther away from the power supply, the lower the brightness, but this problem can be solved by dual-terminal power supply.
In places with water stains, it is recommended to choose a waterproof light strip with glue. Of course, the switching power supply also needs to be waterproof and dustproof.
Low-voltage light strips are suitable for ambient lighting of sheet-like shapes with clean surfaces.
The linear light is actually a special version of the low-voltage light strip. It mainly sticks the low-voltage light strip in the aluminum groove with the acrylic diffuser to adapt to more usage scenarios. For the selection of the light strip, you can refer to the low-voltage light strip.
The T5 bracket is a powerful tool for basic lighting, with sufficient brightness and uniform light output, which is convenient for maintenance. T5 brackets are mostly used for hidden light and basic lighting scenes in supermarkets, stores, and homes. Specifications are usually: 0.3M, 0.6M, 0.9M, 1M, 1.2M five specifications. Seamless splicing can be achieved (the difference between the length of the lamp and the length of the lamp trough is less than 10 cm will basically not affect the light effect) and is equipped with a soft head to adapt to more use scenarios.
advantage:
It is easy to replace, which one is broken, which does not affect others. The product is stereotyped, the replacement frequency is low, and the color temperature and brightness consistency are better. Low installation requirements and good light output consistency. With high brightness, it is more suitable for the basic lighting source of ceiling light troughs. There is no video flicker in constant current.
shortcoming:
It can only be installed in a straight line, and the arc is not competent. It is not suitable to use T5 for ambient lighting in the home environment, the brightness is too high, and it should be used with caution in the bedroom.
